Understanding the plants and trees around you should be as important to you as the food you store and the tools you acquire, when walking the path of self-reliance. 

You owe it to yourself to have a full understanding of  the medicinal, as well as the edible qualities of the plants and tress in your area, so that you can make use of these resources when the time comes.

From mid-Spring to early Fall, medicinal and edible plants are readily available, from the side of the road to the edge of the creek. A solid understanding of these medicinal and edible plants will keep you feed, healthy and medicated in a survival situation. While others who do not have this knowledge could pay the consequences with their life.
